COOPER spent 17 years in the army, some of them as an intelligence officer and some of them in Townsville. But you have to hope that this rip-roaring thriller isn't based on fact, or we're all in trouble. His hero, Jay Ryan, is the Australian army's top interrogator but the book begins with Ryan on the other side of the desk, with a fellow officer interrogating him. When his hand is nailed to the desk it is obvious that something is very wrong. The action is fast and furious as Ryan uncovers a web of corruption and intrigue which is almost impossible to untangle. But untangle it he must if he is to save the world with the knowledge only he holds. A great first novel.
In a word: Rambunctious
